July 28, 2004 (Press Release) --
Because of the large number of those who have
registered for the maiden edition of the Mid-Western Christian Book Fair, October 1-2, 2004, the venue has been moved from Rex Center Iowa City, Iowa USA to the nearby bigger and better Johnson County Fairgrounds.
A place that has hosted many trade shows in the past, Johnson County Fairgrounds has a big exhibition and packing space that can accommodate even more exhibitors from across the US.
"We are amazed not only by the number of authors,
publishers and booksellers who have registered for the book fair but also by the amount of genuine emails, mails, phone calls and fax messages we have been getting, " commented Paschal Eze, director of the fair.
The fact that many of the authors, publishers and
booksellers who have registered for the event are from outside the mid-west provides ample evidence that a Christ-focused, author-friendly and cost-effective book fair like this is a blazing necessity! It also shows that the event is not just for Christian authors, publishers and booksellers in the mid-west but also for those from other parts of the country.
Many organizations in the book industry have reflected it on their websites' calendar of events. A number of publishers have included it in their newsletters, and the media has been, to say the least, very helpful.
Its website,www.christian-book-fair.com, has remained on Google's number one spot for months, under the keyword, Christian book fair.
The Mid-Western Christian Book Fair would be held
annually in Iowa for Christian authors, publishers and booksellers across the country who desire to be better known and patronized.
Major highlights of this year's edition include two panel discussions on "The ministry in Christian book writing" and "Christian book marketing," keynote speech by Ron Knott, the Texas-based Bible teacher, Christian author, oil and real estate magnate and retired Delta Airlines flight captain.
Others are conferment of eight Mid-Western Christian Book Fair Awards, and performances by talented Christian artists like Hollywood-based Christian comedian and movie star, Kerri Pomarolli, popular contemporary Christian music star, Jennifer Sergeant, and Christian hiphop singer and producer, Joseph Brewer widely known as Time2GetBusy.
Meanwhile, nominations are still open for the
Mid-Western Christian Book Fair Awards for which a
good number of organizations and individuals have
donated fabulous prizes like publishing contracts.
All nominations and accompanying
materials should be sent to Tim Wirth, Chairperson, Mid-Western Christian Book Fair Awards, c/o The Simply Agape Project, 1309 Boulder Ave Modesto, CA 95351 Tel: 1-209-529-7495. Email: timwirth@earthlink.net.
Unlike most of the awards out there, nominations are absolutely free, and authors, booksellers and
publishers can nominate themselves.
