Here is a little background!!
J.T. Russell grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and he currently lives in Haggerstown, Maryland. He is an amazing vocalist who has been singing for the vast majority of his 29 years. He began performing in professional dinner theater at the age of 4 or 5. His early jump into musical performance can be traced back to the musical background of his family. J.T's mother was a pianist and his Uncle Frank is a concert tenor.
J.T, who has only been writing his own music for about a year, has a goal of being a pioneer in this time when most music is begining to sound the same. Because of his pioneering attitude, his music becomes difficult to place within on genre. He has found the point where the line between country and adult contemporary meets pop.
J.T. has been refered to as "the little boy with the big voice." This description becomes more fitting when you discover who he considers to be his main musical influence, Patsy Cline, a woman who became a legend through the strength and power of her voice. J.T. for his first earful of Patsy when his grandmother would play her music in the car.
J.T. will soon be recording with Jetspeed Records, but he has already managed to get his name out even without the support of a label behind him. He submitted a demo to the New York International Music Festival and was ranked as being one of the top 10 vocalists. As a result of his participation in the festival he was featured in an interview in a local newspaper in Maryland. He has performed live in bars and other local events. He has also paired up with vocalist/songwriter Robyn Lee, who J.T. describes as being extremely supportive. J.T. Russell is very confident in his success and is looking forward to a long lasting career in the music industry.
