Armenia is one of the most ancient grape growing and processing countries in the world. According to Antique Greek, Roman, Armenian, and other sources, confirmed by many archeological discoveries, Armenia�s winemaking tradition is at least 3,000 years old. However, Armenia is better known for its brandy, which it began producing in the late 19th century. Today brandy is a symbol of Armenia and an important export product. Armenian brandy won its first Grand-Prix gold medal in France in 1904, which has been followed by 51 gold, 21 silver and 3 bronze medals over the years.
