July 30, 2004 (Press Release) --
(DALLAS, TX), July 30, 2004 - Former IBM Director of Corporate Business Intelligence, Sydney Newman Dotson, is a corporate spy turned detective in "No Greater Deception, A True Texas Story."
Dotson's debut book skyrocketed up the sales charts to #1 on the Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble Bestseller Lists as the bestselling True Crime Biography for four months in a row.
"Making the Top 10 Bestseller List is wonderful. Becoming number one is outstanding," says Dotson. "I hope Random House, HarperCollins and St. Martin's True Crime Series publishers are watching. They missed the opportunity to pick me up under their imprint title. I self-published this book.
Bookstores were not prepared to meet the demand for this tell-all book written by the police chief's daughter about her family's experience with identity theft. Customers were often told the book is "not in stock" or "not available." So, sales on Amazon and Barnes and Noble website online bookstores soared to fill in the gap.
In "No Greater Deception, A True Texas Story, Dotson's stepmother produces a suspicious Last Will and Testament that leaves her the entire estate.
Dotson has been seen on The NBC Today Show and PBS. She's currently speaking on television and radio station Talk Shows as an Identity Theft Expert across the country. Detectives, profilers and handwriting experts are using her book as a textbook case study on identity theft and the criminal mind of a Black Widow forger.
"I refuse to be a victim of identity theft by my stepmother. I'm a survivor, says Dotson. "You can ruin my credit, but don't steal my inheritance. I hope sharing my story with others will help prevent future identity thefts, forgeries and fraud across the country."
Forgery is not a domestic issue. It's a felony, and should be treated as such by judges, attorneys and DAs. I realize they have a better chance of being re-elected by handling a serial killer case than a forgery case. But this must change."
"Did you know that 95% of all identity thefts are performed by family members on family members? Families are losing hundreds of thousands, and sometimes millions of dollars to identity theft that is conducted by relatives. This issue needs to be addressed appropriately in the media. Simply putting your money in Citibank isn't the solution."
"It's a real-life Texas Soap Opera of Love, Death, Betrayal and Justice," says Liz Carpenter, author and Lady Bird Johnson's WHITE HOUSE Press Secretary.
?No Greater Deception, A True Texas Story? is available on 100 Amazon Associates Program websites, as well as Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com today.
