Washington, DC -- Metropolitan Police Clubhouses, part of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington (BGCGW), will host its First Annual DC Fun Walk for Youth Sports on Sunday, September 26, 2004 beginning at 9:00 a.m. at West Potomac Park (Tidal Basin) in Washington, DC to benefit the children in the Washington area.
The Clubs, through the participation of youth and staff, will seek donations from family and friends for the completion of the fundraiser.
Prizes will be awarded to participants according to the amount raised and to the highest fundraiser in each youth division. This is a great way for youth to actively generate funds to directly affect their communities and promote physical fitness.
BGCGW has partnered with Capital Sports Marketing Group to create awareness and to generate local and corporate sponsorships. Sponsors may participate at various levels and donations are welcome.
This event is a first for Boys & Girls Clubs! The Fun Walk will give kids, their families and local businesses an opportunity to give back to the community, while engaging in safe and fun activities.
