FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 16, 2004 --
BALTIMORE MD – August 1, 2004 – Albert M. Harris, the original developer and owner of The Harris Group’s printstream parsing software The TransFormer ™, announced the formation of Trans-Print Services ™. The new company will initially offer third party contracted software maintenance and professional services support for the TransFormer™ software product.
Joining Mr. Harris will be Michael Brooks, chief architect of the TransFormer product, who worked as the Director of software development beginning with the Harris Group in 1992 and continuing on with Bell & Howell until 2004. Mike is the leading expert in the TransFormer product as well as the internals of AFP, PCL, and Xerox print streams. He has extensive backgrounds in both OS/390 and WIN32 operating environments with over 20 years of software development experience.
Niels Andersen, software developer and an employee of The Harris Group beginning in 1996 and at Bell & Howell until 2004 has also joined the firm. Niels, an expert in OS/390 JES internals and AFPDS, will provide technical support for AFP and PCL print streams. His expertise extends into integration of Postal products for Group1, Pitney Bowes and U.S. Postal Service CASS certification. He wrote system interfaces and I/O routines for all platforms; MVS, VSE, Win32 and Unix/AIX.
Also joining the new company is Paul LeTourneur, EDP, of Dynamic Design Solutions LLC and a thirty-year veteran of the Direct Marketing software and operations industry. Prior to joining AMH-TransPrint, he held positions of Marketing and Sales Manager for Electronic Printing, V.P. Technology, V.P. Statement Processing and COO at numerous Direct Mail Service Bureaus. Paul will support the sales and marketing efforts.
Trans-Print will provide custom software maintenance contracts to current and lapsed owners of TransFormer ™ contracts. These targeted agreements will be offered in three levels of support, tailored to the individual’s required support specifications.
Additionally, custom support agreements for Trans-Print Programmer Services Group (PSG) will be sold at competitive pricing. Al Harris explained “We have the opportunity to fill a void left when licensed owners of The TransFormer ™ allowed their high priced maintenance contracts to expire, and underutilized their software investment due to very high PSG fees”.
Trans-Print plans to roll out details of the new company at local and global conferences of Xplor International (located this year in Dallas TX October 24-28). Paul LeTourneur, a member of the Xplor Board of Directors, will represent Trans-Print on the exhibit floor.
