Interested in learning more about meditation? If so, this new web site may help you improve your health, increase your level of energy and maximize your enjoyment of life.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) August 16, 2004 -- Created by Matt Clarkson, Author of the book and audio program – “Secrets of Meditation, Health and Manifestation,” the web site worth a look at is called

www.SecretsofMeditation.com. The site clears up common misconceptions about meditation and presents simple exercises to calm the mind, reduce stress and increase energy levels.

Would you like to know the truth about mediation without woolly teaching and pie-in-the-sky philosophy? Here’s what Matt has to say…

1. Understand The Purpose of Meditation. Many people feel fascinated by the possibility of mystic visions, psychic intuition and heightened mental functioning.

While it’s true that meditators often report these sorts of experiences, they should not be the primary reason for practice. The purpose of meditation is to bring us back to ourselves.

As we become healthier, happier and realize greater self-awareness, the other benefits of meditation begin to follow naturally -- improved mental functioning, greater intuition as well as greater access to unconscious resources and abilities.

2. Meditation Is No 'Quick Fix'.

Meditation requires dedication and discipline. You can develop a quieter, more focused mind. You can become a happier, more balanced and loving person if you are committed enough to this process.

Set aside some time each day for your practice. Ten minutes a day is fine to get you started. But to get the most benefits, you just make these skills part of you life.

3. Your Posture Must Be Good

There are many possible positions for meditation – lotus position, half lotus, sitting on a chair or cross-legged on the floor. Whatever position you settle in, your posture must be full and open and your back straight.

Sitting or standing in good posture makes the inside of your body come alive. Energy flows more easily through the body. Good posture promotes natural spontaneous healing!

4. The Best Style Of Meditation Is What Feels Right For You

Most important of all, do not accept anyone else's teaching without verifying the truth of what they say in your own experience.

Listen to your own body and mind and do what feels right for you. Meditation should NEVER be forced. You should let the meditation happen in a relaxed and comfortable way without trying to direct it.

The main thing to remember is to pay attention to your body. Make sure what you are doing feels right for you.
