(Free-Press-Release.com) August 24, 2004 -- Dallas, Texas, 8-25-04 - Author of The Bobby Baker Series and Color Me Imperfect And Real. The book, The Unseen Portraiture Of R.M. Carmicheal, was acquired by Ameth Carmicheal, whom is the granddaughter of Mr. Carmichael.

This book brings together more than 200 photographs, including many that have never before been published. The photographs in this collection bridge a forty-two year span from 1938 to 1980. Many of his photographs have been awarded Blue or Red Ribbons as well as Judge's Awards in the annual competitions of Amateur and Semi-Professional Photographers.



R.M. Carmichael lost his ten year battle with Alzheimer's Disease in 1988 at the age of seventy eight. He left behind a lifetime of photographic work, most of it unknown outside of a few colleagues and curators in the Dallas, Texas area. These photographs-taken primarily in and around the state of Texas-are remarkable in their mildly sensual view of our society. They illuminate the unusual, vision of a photographer who, while living a reclusive personal life, was able to record the lives of others with such remarkable passion and poignancy.
