August 31, 2004 (Press Release) --
The recent August 25th release of "Crime Family" an independent film is hitting the big time in internet distribution. The small town flick with big city appeal has struck a nerve with people who are seeing what small production companies have to offer. "We're tired of all the computer graphics, they look like cartoons. Smaller budget films have more grit and more personality." states one viewer. Production began on "Crime Family" in May 2003. With the help of over 100 people in their Springfield Missouri location, for crew and talent, this action thriller was put into force. "I haven't put it to paper yet, but I would say the budget was around $5000. We're hoping to be on the major DVD websites within 30 days." says writer, director Bryon Blakey. Are indie films cutting out a chunk of the big picture pie? Time will tell. To keep up with the latest in Black Meadow Productions efforts, go to www.blackmeadow.com
