How to Play: Quickstart

The quickest way to learn how to play is to view the brief tutorial screens found within the game. To run the tutorial, launch the game and press the "How to Play" button near the bottom, middle of the screen.

Game Rules:

The player must achieve the Target Score for a Round to continue the game.
The Target Score is reset at the start of each Round.
A Round consists of 6 Sets of randomly-distributed letters. The number of letters provided per Set depends on the Game Type in play.
A player may use all, some, or none of the letters in a given Set.

Words must be at least 3 letters in length but cannot be longer than the maximum length as determined by the Game Type.
Words must intersect with other words on the board. If no words exist on the board, the first word may be placed in any location on the board.
Words cannot be formed off - or be dependent in any way on - a word not found in the game dictionary.
Words must follow standard crossword-style rules: Words on the board both across and down must exist in the game dictionary.
Words are checked against the game dictionary.
Letters placed on the board may be moved at any time until they are "fixed" into position using the Submit button.

Letters may not be placed on top of other letters.
Valid game words are scored and bonuses are assigned upon a Submit as described in the Scoring Reference section of this help document.
The game is over when the player fails to meet or exceed the Target Score for a Round.
