CDDB is a great tool to identify your Audio CDs and obtain the track and album information from the Internet without your typing them in. You can change settings in the Options/Online window.

We recommend you let the automatic calling switched on, for your convenience. You can manually connect as well, as described in the section How to connect manually to CDDB ?

You sometimes experience difficulties in connecting with CDDB. There are many potential reasons for this. It could be your internet connection or your network. It could be the protocols. If you have problems connecting with the CDDB database, try to change the protocol and the sites. We recommend you keep the Random US site by default.

But it could also be that your intranet uses a proxy server between you and the Internet. In order to have CDDB properly function in this case, you need to configure the proxy server settings in the Options/Online window with the Proxy name and Port number from your network administrator.
