September 26, 2004 (Press Release) --
The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) Dubai is once again participating in Top Resa 2004, the largest tourism fair for the French travel & tourism professionals, to promote Dubai in this important market. The fair is being held in Deauville, France from September 30 to October 2.
The DTCM organized a pre-event meeting for the co-participants to discuss about the arrangements and share views with them. The meeting was addressed by DTCM Executive Overseas Promotions, Mr. Saleh Al Geziry.
Mr. Al Geziry briefed the participants about the calendar of events and preparations for the exhibition. This is Dubai’s straight participation in the fair for the 15th consecutive year.
Mr. Al Geziry said: “France is an important source market for Dubai and there has been a significant year-on-year increase in the number of visitors from this country. We are very optimistic about this fair which has seen an increased number of co-participants from 11 in 2003 to 13 this year."
The number of Dubai hotel establishment visitors from France saw a 7 per cent increase in 2003 over the previous year while 42,806 visitors visited Dubai in the first six months of 2004.
The co-participants comprise Dubai-based hotels, tour operators and travel companies. Raffle draws will be conducted on each day of the fair for two winners for a Dubai holiday tour.
The DTCM is involved in the international marketing of Dubai as a destination for up market tourism and also plays an active role in attracting increased foreign inward investment into the emirate. The DTCM has a network of overseas offices covering the markets of the USA, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Nordic countries, Switzerland, Austria, India, Japan, Far Eastern region, Italy, Russian Federation, CIS, Baltic states, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and AGCC.
