The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing’s (DTCM) participation in Leisure 2004 has helped it bag the 'Best Stand' award during one of the main international autumn trade fair for tourism in Russia and the CIS.
DTCM's participation in the 10th edition of Leisure 2004 for the seventh consecutive year saw 70 co-participants from Dubai, marking an increase of more than 100 per cent in the number of co-participants over the previous year.
DTCM Manager Overseas Promotions, Mr. Khalifa Buamaim, received the award on behalf of the DTCM.
Leisure 2004 attracted 880 exhibitors representing 60 destinations, up from 876 exhibitors from 58 countries in 2003. The number of visitors touched over 120,000, up from 47,000 last year.
The total number of visitors to the Dubai stand too saw an increase from 661 last year to 1,127 this year.
The show featured the entire product range of tourism from city and sightseeing trips, winter holidays, winter-sun and long distance destinations, to adventure and safari tours, wellness and educational holidays as well as MICE and VIP tourism.
