September 30, 2004 (Press Release) --
Lets face it, America's energy and oil companies
have been very reluctant to make any short or
long term commitments toward clean or alternate
energy, because they are making fortunes on the
current energy situation.
Things are about to change when it comes to
energy in the USA. Americans are resourceful and
once a trend catches on that means saving money,
it will spread like wild fire. There are already
many "alternative energy source" companies emerging at a steady rate due to the mideast
conflicts and a steady increase in gas prices.
With the Internet available, these sources can no
longer be kept in the dark from average consumers. This is a good reason for large oil
and energy brokers to get serious about
altenatives.
With oil prices at at the highest rate in
history, large corporations are getting nervous.
Exxon just released an ad with an emphisis on
steam power and another on liquified natural gas.
Exxon has been known for their insight on future
trends for several years since the Valdez
disaster. We can expect many ads from other
companies to follow as things get more unstable
in the energy stocks.
The total effect of the mideast is reverberating
to utility companies as well. Ever increasing
utility bills are of major concern to Americans,
especially in California. Regulation is limited.
People are turning toward solar, wind, and
geothermal energy as a complete or partial
alternative to utility companies.
So why the hesitation to change? It certainly
seems like the logical thing to do. From a
consumer standpoint alternate energy is an
excellent notion. From an overall economic view
it is quite different. A major change will effect
everything from the auto manufacturers to "mom
and pop" heating duct suppliers. Action like this
takes time, money and a major re-structuring of
current job skills.
If Exxon is running a new campaign for alternative energy sources, investors and
consumers need to start jumping on the band
wagon, because major changes are on the way.
