September 30, 2004 (Press Release) --
Frisco, Texas, September 28, 2004 — Enterprise Messaging Communications Corporation (EMCom), best known in the messaging industry for their Professional Services and migration expertise, has released Version 3.5 of the Migration Manager. The Migration Manager is designed to migrate email data between messaging systems. Version 1 offered Microsoft Exchange to Samsung Contact migration support. Version 2 extended support for migrating from HP OpenMail to Samsung Contact, German language support and viruses checking data during the migration process. Migration Manager Version 3 added basic Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000 migration support.
The newest release extends the product to support migrations to Exchange 2003 and preservation of metadata during the Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000/2003 migration. The Migration Manager comes with a desktop tool called the MM Desktop Converter. The Desktop Converter is responsible for managing the transition on the users local system. It manages profiles changes and converts addresses embedded in the PST and Personal Address Book (PAB). The MM and DC work in concert to preserve metadata such as user Inbox rules, views, fonts, signatures, delegates and other configured mailboxes. Also the MM can update the GAL, hide the old mailbox and auto-forwards mail to the new account.
The Migration Manager helps Enterprises manage the process, and minimizes time, resources and cost associated with the transition. The official release date is October 15, 2004 and will be available for download for evaluation at http://www.getemcom.com. “The Migration Manager paves the way for a smooth transition when moving between mail systems. It also exemplifies our dedication and responsiveness to customers who are in transition,” said Stephen Eaton, President of EMCom. “Every customer that currently has another mail system has to address the issue of moving their existing data. How do we do it, and do it efficiently? Not only is the migration of email important, but Enterprises need to preserve their Calendar and Contact information during the transition. The Migration Manager makes this complex task manageable.”
EMCom brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, having worked in the messaging sector for over ten years. “Our goal is to simplify the migration path. We believe the Migration Manager and our Professional Services set EMCom apart from other organizations,” said Mr. Eaton.
