Mel Ott Parkway Dedication as passed by Act 20 of the Louisiana Legislature.

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 7, 2004 -- The City of Gretna is proud to announce the dedication of portion of Louisiana 23 as MEL OTT PARKWAY as passed by Act 20 of the Louisiana Legislature. The portion of the highway to bear memorial markers in Ott's honor applies only to Louisiana 23 inside Gretna's boundaries from the West Bank Expressway to Whitney Avenue. The street name remains the same, therefore, maps do not have to be changed.

This deserving honor goes to Gretna's native son and national baseball hero, "Mel Ott!" The exciting news is that it runs in front of Mel Ott Park that is already dedicated to him.
