JUST IN TIME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! New Nutrition & Weight Management Program Announced At Local Health Club

(Free-Press-Release.com) October 11, 2004 -- Stamford, CT – In keeping with the Stamford Athletic Club’s commitment to bringing club members the latest technology and overall health and wellness programming, Glenn Colarossi, General Manager of SAC, announces a brand new, nutritionist-supervised program, “Weight Management for Life”.

“According to the American Dietetic Association, diets have a 5.2% success rate. This indicates that diets – any variation – simply don’t work” remarks Linda Gottlieb, Intuitive Eating Coach and Director of Fitness and Training at the club. At SAC, we understand our members’ goals and want to help them be the best that they can be. The most common results people seek are weight loss, feeling healthier and energetic, looking better in clothing, and being more self-confident.”

“We have developed an exciting 12 week program that is a realistic alternative to restrictive and sometimes unsafe diets, which, in addition provides the personal, one on one support one needs to make the important lifestyle changes to keep weight off. Weekly sessions are held in a comfortable, private consultation room away from the fitness floor; participants learn what their specific nutritional needs are, how to choose, prepare and eat foods that support their body to allow weight loss without dieting, and use customized tools to help plan meals, increase their daily activity, and create strategies to help insure a lifetime of success.”

Geri Zatcoff, M.S., Certified Nutritionist supervising the program, says “this is an approach that works! Participants will not receive a ‘food plan’ from me- that would essentially be yet another diet. Instead, working with me and their coach, participants can release the diet mentality and make small eating changes that can lead to tremendous results. The three month timeframe is critical to reinforce these changes and create new, healthier eating habits.”

Linda adds “Increasing daily activity definitely boosts the weight management efforts of participants, and our coaches can help suggest some ways to incorporate more movement into their daily schedules. Since not everyone is an avid indoor gym enthusiast, our coaches encourage activities like dancing, walking and even gardening to inspire an active lifestyle.
