November 1, 2004 (Press Release) --
What could be better than publishing a controversial new book? How about offering readers an open forum where they can discuss and debate the book's pointed arguments? Author Robert M. Walker, Sr. has done just that with his newly released "One Nation, Under Fog" - "Rediscovering the Foundation of a Democracy." As soon as the new book became available on Amazon.com, the Blog was ready for action at http://onuf.blogspot.com
Only time will tell if the "Book and a Blog" approach will catch on, but Walker is willing to bet that this approach will appeal to the reader of any work that challenges social, economic, political or religious norms. "We want to be heard," said Walker, "We need to be heard; and we want our opinion to count, to matter; we want our voice to help make a difference."
A number of timely issues are addressed in this new release, including corporate accountability, economic recovery, personal responsibility in light of the individual’s right to pursue happiness, and the importance of upholding moral and ethical standards.
The author reviews the beginning stages of Colonial America and the founding of the States, providing historic perspective to the continuing Church –vs– State argument. Reviewing the erosion of moral and ethical standards over the past four decades, a clear page-by-page contrast of vices and virtues is listed, noting that “Only in the safety and comfort afforded by the innumerable sacrifices of countless predecessors does man so quickly forget his purpose, pursue vanity, and pride himself in empty achievement - trading priceless virtue for celebrated vice.”
As a 90-page paperback priced under ten dollars, the book is also available discounted in larger quantities for use as a fundraiser. Churches, scout troops, youth groups, and other organizations are welcome to use this new publication to raise funds for any worthy cause.
