New features offer greater flexibility, performance and HIPPA compliance

XX, 2004 – AdvancedMD Software, the No. 1 Web-based software provider for physician offices and billing office management, today announced the released of AdvancedMD 4.2, the latest version of its Web-based, 100 percent HIPAA-compliant practice management and medical billing software.
AdvancedMD v4.2 features innovative insurance management features, a flexible new claims reporting platform and enhanced automated data backups.
“The latest features added to AdvancedMD v4.2 have been created in response to customer feedback,” said Ken Meyers, chief operations officer of AdvancedMD Software. “The new features provide users with even greater flexibility and protection. New features now available with AdvancedMD v4.2 include:
 Automated backups every 60 minutes: Compliance with the fast-approaching HIPAA Security Rule deadline, AdvancedMD v4.2 executes an automatic backup every hour or better – including backup quality tests – for all patient and medical billing data. Additionally, off-site backups store data at a high-security Internet server facility every evening. With this service, physician practices no longer bear the liability of protecting patient data secured on backup tapes that may be left with staff members or taken off-site to unsecured locations.
 Improved reporting features: AdvancedMD v4.2 marks the debut of Microsoft’s new, highly touted Reporting Services system to create and run AdvancedMD reports. A handy new Reports Center combined with the Reporting Services allows better performance and greater flexibility for reporting.
 Carrier Review: Billing managers can avoid unnecessary duplicates or errors by using Carrier Review in AdvancedMD v4.2, a feature designed for approving new carrier entries before adding the entries to the master file. Users can also utilize Carrier Review to evaluate all provider IDs associated with a carrier from within a single screen.
