December 10, 2004 (Press Release) --
A midwest couple says that it is high time that the people in this country pay tribute to the wives and mothers of our troops. "With hundreds if not thousands of business's,groups and organizations supporting our soldiers, very little has been done to support the women behind the scenes waiting at home", said Paula Dahlin from the small rural community of State Center, Iowa. The wives and moms of these troops are paying a high cost it terms of worry, stress, in many cases added financial responsibility, and suddenly finding themselves performing child rearing duties solo.
The "Freedom Cross" is simply a red, white and blue cross necklace that we would like every military mom and wife to have free of charge. The Dahlins currently have more than 500 Military Moms and Wives that have registered on their website. We feel that it represents everything that is good in America and helps define the ties between God and country that have been severely undermined in the last twenty years.
Wearing this cross gives these women a tangible reminder each day that they are not alone and encourages them to seek strength through spiritual rescources.
