mi4e Device Management AB of Stockholm, Sweden has been selected by “3” in Scandinavia to provide a Device Management Server (DMS). The configuration service was launched in Sweden and Denmark on November 1ST, 2004 and has been a tremendous success with “3” customers.
Mi4e’s DMS provides centralized management and configuration of customer devices, configuring over 12 different types of data service settings via 7 different provisioning protocols on over 500 devices. The mi4e DMS takes full advantage of the standards defined by the Open Mobile Alliance (OMA), which enables the platform to send a complete range of parameters to the mobile phone with only one interaction and keystroke by the customer. The so-called multi-shot technology packages all service settings into one configuration whereas other device management technologies force the customer to request and install the settings for each service one at the time.
