OZBURN-HESSEY LOGISTICS COMPLETES RED BULL NORTH AMERICA’S LOGISTICS NETWORK IMPLEMENTATION
Companies align to support Red Bull’s explosive growth
NASHVILLE, Tennessee—Ozburn-Hessey Logistics (OH Logistics) www.ohlogistics.com and Red Bull North America, Inc. (www.redbullusa.com) announced today that the Red Bull Energy Drink supply chain managed by OH Logistics has been fully implemented. OH Logistics is Red Bull’s single national provider handling more than 16,000 shipments of its popular energy drink during 2004 and opening five locations in five states in the first 90 days of operation.
“Red Bull needed a premium logistics provider to help us achieve our supply chain strategies,” said Rob Steere, Director of Operations for Red Bull. “Our decision to partner with OH Logistics was based upon their flexible warehouse network, transportation management capabilities and their strong information technology offering which provides us with web based visibility to our supply chain.” OH Logistics has already saved Red Bull several million dollars since implementation began in March of 2004.
One of the primary attributes Red Bull sought in a 3PL was scalability. “We are experiencing explosive year over year growth rates,” said Steere. “These growth rates are exciting, however it makes forecasting our warehouse space requirements more challenging. OH Logistics makes it possible for Red Bull to leverage their national network of multi-client warehouses to flex with our space needs.”
“Red Bull’s needs and Ozburn-Hessey Logistics’ capabilities were a great fit,” said Scott McWilliams, CEO of OH Logistics. “We were honored to be chosen as the exclusive 3PL for Red Bull in the US. Red Bull has a premium brand image globally and we look forward to growing with them and helping them expand even further in the North American market.”
Red Bull is using OH Logistics Synapse WMS and Transynd TMS (OH Logistics branded G-Log® GC3™). These systems are fully interfaced and web enabled.
