January 12, 2005 (Press Release) --
BOULDER, Colo.- Dec. 15 2004 – Atmosphere, a sophisticated lifestyle store formerly known as The Willow Tree, hired Tres Birds Workshop, an architecture and general contracting firm, to design and contract their new retail space.
Janny Chaiyavet and Mike Moore of Tres Birds Workshop were the designers and general contractors on the Atmosphere project. The intention of Atmosphere’s design was to create a space that is adaptive to changes in the product line, the natural light changes throughout the year and the shopping climate.
“It is a simple space, one that is created by the suggestion of walls, a ‘cloud-like’ lighting system that may be thoroughly manipulated by owners, and a concrete floor plane that welcomes pedestrians through a wood inlay pattern that is an extension of the sidewalks of 9th and Pearl Streets,” said Mike Moore, of Tres Birds Workshop. “Atmosphere is a space created solely for the experience of the guest.”
Atmosphere recently moved to the corner of 9th and Pearl Streets on Boulder’s trendy West End. Specializing in high-end furniture and fashions, Atmosphere will showcase a wide range of up-to-the-minute lifestyle items in furniture, fashion, beauty, baby and jewelry.
“At Atmosphere we have created an experience you won’t find anywhere else,” said Norm Blum, one of Atmosphere’s owners. “We couldn’t be happier with the final result after months of collaboration with Tres Birds Workshop.”
