January 12, 2005 (Press Release) --
Prostate cancer symptoms
Early prostate cancer usually has no symptoms and as a result prostate cancer is often not diagnosed until a later stage. Symptoms of more advanced disease include:
Weak or interrupted urine flow
Frequent urination
Difficulty urinating
Blood in the urine or semen
Pain or burning on urination
Impotence
Prostate cancer cells can break off from the tumour and spread to other parts of the body, especially the bones of the hip and lower back. When this happens, the most common symptom is bone pain.
These symptoms may be caused by other, unrelated conditions so experiencing them doesnt necessarily mean you have prostate cancer. However, you should consult your doctor if you have any of these problems .
