Awarenessmagazine.net is a magazine for the Conscious Professional and is the innovative voice for the up and coming, on the rise, underground and independent artist, writers, poets, community leader, entertainer and the list goes on...
Awareness Magazine was the bright vision of Founder, James M. Lisbon, as he wanted to tell the stories of great African American and Latino business owners and community conscious professionals. Based out of NY, AMAG - Awareness Magazine in its two years has branched to incorporate writers from all over the United States. The magazine takes time to share social and political essays, and views from those who are really important in this society.
Rebecca's Room is a haven for the book enthusiast. We strongly believe in literacy and are working towards implementing a literacy program in libraries nationwide. AMAG gives special attention to our poetry section "Poetic Justice" as it has been with us from the start as well as the new addition "Featured Poet". While poetry/spoken word return as the community voice, AMAG is on the forefront including poetic voices in our publication to increase awareness.
Over the last two years, we are extremely excited with the concept of AMAG - F. A. M. (film, art and music). With the making of our promotional compilation CD's that readers receive with their subscriptions as well as supporters of our promotional events. The CD’s shine light on poets, singers, and musicians... from Brooklyn to St. Louis to California. We would be remiss without mentioning AMAG-DC.
Jamila Barber (promotional director) has found a way to bring together both the visual arts and film by having independent film screenings inside an African American owned art gallery in Georgetown, DC., from start to finish Awareness Magazine is truly for the conscious professional, while hoping to inspire and help to cultivate the entrepreneur in all.
