For the first time in the shows’ history, the VMA's were held in beauthiful Miami Beach

Sunday August 29th I was on the move attending the MTV Video Music Awards. For the first time in the shows’ history, the VMA's were held in a location other than New York and California. This year the headed to one of my favorite places, Miami Beach.
Friday night I saw Carl Thomas walking down Collins Avenue enjoying the breeze off the Atlantic. The Cash Money Millionaires went all out celebrating at Club Crobar throwing the biggest baller party that evening. P. Diddy, Mase and the entire Bad Boy Family including New Edition hosted the “Take Over” Radio show with DJ Khaled and K. Foxx at the WEDR station.
Saturday sources say Jay-Z had a bar-b-que on Star Island. Lil Scrappy, Terror Squad and M.I.N.X. Productions were there. The Red Door Lounge is where Miami based rappers Jacki-O and Pitbull were spotted having cocktails on Saturday night, but by far the best upscale party on Saturday night-if you wanted to rub shoulders with the who’s who in the industry was Club Teasers on 5th Street and Ocean Drive partying with the R&B King himself, R. Kelly. Only R. Kelly could organize an all white album release party. The club's décor was simply beautiful and R. Kelly looked dashing in his all white Armani suit. Just Blaze, Anthony Hamilton, and Scott Storch were in the building.
Sunday was the big show and the stars stepped on the red carpet in style. Some artists arrived by yachts; others arrived by limo. Whichever way they got to the Miami Arena everyone was ready for the media rush. Ashanti, Gwen Stephanie, Jacki-O, Trina, Christina Milian, and La La (MTV VJ) got my vote for best dressed ladies. For the men, Nelly won it hands down.
After the award show I headed to Usher's after party. The Shore Club on Collins is where Usher held it down. It was a mad house trying to get in. But once in I was astounded by the scenery alone. Usher was the King of the night and the theme was Africa. Women wearing lion and panther body paint were walking around entertaining guests and dancers were hanging from the ceiling. I spotted Christina Aguilera and Shaq having a great time.
Overall this years VMA’s was off the hook. MTV did a fabulous job on decorating the city of Miami. I’m sure to be there next year. And you will too, you are my special guest when you are on the move.
