January 21, 2005 (Press Release) -- Securitas Security Services, is the largest contract security provider in the United States and the world. Providing uniformed security officers to thousands of clients, including US Government facilities.
On January. 21, 2005 an ex-employee filed official charges in Hudson County, NJ, (Docket # HUD-L-6158-04) against the security giant. After over 1 year of negotiations, the employee and his attorney filed the official charges.
The ex-employee (Jose Antonio Rodriguez) and his attorney (Estelle Flynn Lord) of Westfield, NJ filed the charges which allege that a Human resource director out of the Securitas main office in Jersey City NJ, sent him e-mails that were inappropriate. Included in the e-mails were remarks of a sexual nature (sexual harassment).
The charges allege that after this e-mail was sent to the ex-employee he complained to company managers, and they retaliated against him by terminating his employment. After over 9 years of service and an impeccable track record the employee was wrongfully terminated. The charges also allege that in the same e-mails, the human resource director, made accusations that the ex-employee was stealing hours, these accusations had no basis, and were not factual. Charges that the Human resource director distributed a letter to his creditors advising them of his termination, in an effort to further damage the ex- employee’s reputation purposely, was also added.
Allegedly misconduct on behalf of the security giant began, when Jose Rodriguez began complaining about their violations with government contracts. Jose Rodriguez was a manager for the security company at a federal facility(USPS PMPC) in Kearny, NJ. Jose Rodriguez complained that the 30 plus officers assigned at the location by the security giant did not have the federal sensitive clearance required to work there. The Security Company failed to conduct the required background checks on their employees. Jose Rodriguez and his attorney allege that after he complained of their violations, they began to retaliate.
The ex-employee is looking to be compensated for punitive damages, and for lost wages, medical bills, and more for wrongful termination. The ex-employee has lost medical benefits, fringe benefits, time and wages. The termination has caused the ex-employee extreme devastation.
During the ex-employees 9 years with the company, he has been awarded with over one dozen awards and certificates for his successful progress. The ex-employee was promoted over 6 times, and held several high management positions within the organization.
Securitas has a regional office at 26 Journal Square, in Jersey City, NJ.
