Art out of the Frame: Promoting Texas art, one artist at a time.

Art out of the Frame�s unique products take art out of the museum and put it in everyday situations, for everyday enjoyment.

Art out of the Frame produces t-shirts featuring Texas art. Each shirt includes a detailed booklet about the artist and his work. The booklets and our website focus more on the artist as a person than on their resumes. A portion of the profits goes towards art-related charities.

Our goal is to support the local art scene on a number of fronts. The t-shirts allow art lovers to enjoy the work of local artists in their everyday lives. Moreover, the website and the booklets provide customers with a more personal perspective on the artist than a museum catalog would. The company gives local artists greater exposure and compensates them through profit participation.

Art out of the Frame currently donates to the Arts in Medicine Program at Texas Children�s Cancer Center. This program helps brighten the lives of children with serious illnesses by introducing them to a variety of creative activities.

Art out of the Frame currently features the work of two local artists:

Richard E. Fluhr�s work has been displayed locally as well as in museums such as the Brooklyn Museum of Art in New York and the British Museum in London. His t-shirt features a 2004 painting entitled Metro Fountain Houston, a colorful collage of well-known Houston landmarks.

Mark Greenwalt�s work has appeared in a number of Texas galleries and shows. His art often features shapes and bodies floating in space. His Art out of the Frame t-shirt is no different and is representative of the organic approach he takes to art, whereby one idea germinates from another.

Art out of the Frame desires to establish working relationships with additional Texas artists. Interested parties should contact the company via the website.

Art out of the Frame�s main goal is to give greater exposure to Texas artists and to contribute to the general enjoyment of the visual arts in Texas. �Art out of the Frame is not strictly, or even primarily, a for-profit company,� says company founder Martin Gremm. �We want to promote the vibrant visual arts community here in this state.�

About the Company:

Company founder Martin Gremm originally came up with the idea for Art out of the Frame after attending a fund-raising event at the Menil Foundation, where he realized that even small amounts of money and effort can make a big difference.

Mr. Gremm came to this business in a roundabout way. After earning a Ph.D. from Caltech he started applying his mathematical experience to trading in the financial markets, which is still his main occupation. He spends his spare time running Art out of the Frame.

Vice President and co-founder Esther attended graduate school in History, before deciding to change careers and enrolled in the University of Texas School of Law in Austin. When she isn�t studying or doing homework, she devotes her time to Art out of the Frame.
