January 24, 2005 (Press Release) --
OpManager is a web-based Network monitoring software offering integrated fault and performance management functionality. OpManager auto-discovers the entire network, grouping devices into intuitive maps, and monitoring them in real-time.
Enhanced Operational capabilities of version 5.5
URL Monitoring: Checks URLs to ensure they are reachable and serving pages. It monitors web-based applications running in the Intranet and provides metrics on availability and performance trends. An administrator can specify the request parameters of the form (like login and password), while checking if the page login was successful. Using this feature, administrators can easily monitor web applications that require authentication.
Windows Event Log Monitoring: Windows Event Log Monitoring provides several automatic rules to monitor critical security logs across all windows servers and workstations in the network. It easily detects security events such as: failed logons, logon failures due to wrong passwords, account lockouts, failed attempts to access secure files, and security log tampering among others. In addition to security logs, the Windows Event Log Monitor can monitor applications, systems, other event logs and auto-generate e-mail/SMS alerts when events occur.
Windows Services Monitoring: Allows monitoring of windows services across multiple servers on the network. It uses WMI to monitor Windows services and does not require an agent to be installed on a remote machine. It supports monitoring of many Windows Services including: Telnet, FTP, IIS, DiskManager, and others by default. Additionally, you can add your own custom Windows Service monitors.
Quick Configuration Wizard: Includes a new quick configuration Wizard that allows bulk configuration of devices and dramatically reduces the time it takes to setup OpManager.
Other Additions: Includes firewall category in Infrastructure Views, MIB Browser in HTML client, and custom reports enhancements.
"OpManager is an outstanding network monitoring software. It is not only an application you can run on your desktop, but it can also be accessed from anywhere via the web,” said John Staggs, Sr. System Administrator, Computer Automation Systems Inc. “With OpManager, I can now relax sitting at my desk without having to run across the office to see if there are problems."
“Plenty of useful new features have been incorporated into the OpManager 5.5 after listening to several of our customers. We have enhanced the web interface and included several new features for Server Management and developed wizards to enable rapid configuration of the product,” said M. Rathnagirish, Product Manager at AdventNet. “With these additional capabilities, OpManager can discover more network problems and drastically increase administrator efficiency.”
