January 25, 2005 (Press Release) --
Manassas, Va., January 26, 2005 – Like Silicon Valley’s relationship with the technology industry, the San Joaquin Valley of Central California is well known for hosting many of the major players of the healthcare and insurance fields. And that’s where AHC knew they belonged and proved it by recently opening a West Coast branch of their rapidly growing healthcare receivables management business.
“We’re excited to have a presence in Central California and Fresno—an industry hotbed,” said Vickie Clark, Vice President of Operations for AHC. “The area’s unique in that it’s the industry center of the fields that we primarily do business with. We knew it would be an ideal place for us to set up shop.”
AHC provides professional accounts receivable management services to hospitals and healthcare networks through a unique combination of legal expertise and operational ability. AHC reimbursement solutions include problem claim resolution, business process management, difficult payer remedies, denial management, motor vehicle accident and workers’ compensation claims, and assisting the uninsured in obtaining state medical coverage.
AHC’s Fresno office opened its doors on September 7th of last year and currently employs 27 staffers at that location. “We plan to eventually have about fifty employees in California, however if the overall organization continues to grow as rapidly as it has, the Fresno office will expand along with it,” said Clark.
Known as the “All American City,” Fresno is also the business capital of the San Joaquin Valley. With its well known, pleasant agricultural setting and recognition as a prime center for the service industry, it was an ideal place for AHC to recruit workers and open its doors.
“The affordable cost of living and ideal industry worker base is what steered us to the area,” admitted Clark. “When we advertised locally, we were elated to receive strong interest from so many individuals with an average of at least 8-10 years of industry experience. Our goal was to launch our office in an area that had a great talent pool of workers that have chosen the healthcare field as their career.”
AHC corporate headquarters is just outside of Washington DC, in historic Manassas, Va., and the organization also has offices in Boca Raton, Fla., and Albany, N.Y. The Fresno office in the West Shaw Financial Park is AHC’s farthest venture west.
Clark is enthusiastic about the future of AHC in California. “We are excited to become a vital part of the Fresno business community, to enhance the valuable service we offer to our western-based clients, and we’re looking forward to many years of doing business there,” she said.
