RedVector.com has developed a series of online courses on ADA requirements. The series includes courses open to engineers, architects, interior designers and some contractors.
For_Immediate_Release:

January 26, 2005 (Press Release) -- The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) established design requirements for the construction or renovation of many types of buildings almost 15 years ago. For the estimated 54 million Americans with disabilities, the ADA promises to open new doors.

For design and construction professionals, turning the promise of ADA into reality requires learning new concepts and information. “Many design and construction professionals have asked us to produce courses on ADA Guidelines,” said Victoria Zambito, Vice President of Research and Development for RedVector.com, Inc. “Architects, engineers, interior designers and other professionals want to meet the ADA challenge and help create more accessible structures.”

http://www.RedVector.com has developed a series of online courses on ADA requirements. The series includes five courses and a total of eight hours of level courses open to engineers, architects, interior designers and some contractors. The courses also satisfy Barrier Free or Life Safety Code requirements. The courses include:

• ADA Guidelines: General Site & Building Elements (1 hour) covers accessibility requirements for general site and building elements, such as parking spaces, passenger loading zones, stairways, and handrails.

• ADA Guidelines: Building Blocks (1 hour) - the “building blocks” of accessibility, such as changes in level, wheelchair turning space, clear floor space, knee and toe clearances, protruding objects, reach ranges, and operable parts.

• ADA Guidelines: Plumbing Elements & Facilities (2 hours) - plumbing elements and facilities, such as drinking fountains, toilet and bathrooms, water closets and compartments, urinals, lavatories and sinks, bathtubs and showers, grab bars, tub and shower seats, washing machines and clothes dryers, and saunas and steam rooms.

• ADA Guidelines: Recreation Facilities (2 hours) - recreation facilities, such as amusement rides, recreational boating facilities, exercise machines, fishing piers and platforms, golf facilities, miniature golf facilities, play areas, swimming pools, wading pools, and spas.

• ADA Guidelines: Accessible Routes (2 hours) - accessible routes, including walking surfaces, doors, ramps, curb ramps, elevators, and platform lifts.
