January 30, 2005 (Press Release) --
Spicer & Associates, a Richmond-based healthcare consulting company, has contracted with The JanKoseen Group, of Basel, Switzerland, to help market a series of groundbreaking medical conferences worldwide.
“This is a unique opportunity for a small local company to make a big difference,” explained Paul Spicer, founder and president of Spicer & Associates.
The JanKossen Group has hired Spicer to generate a buzz among medical professionals in US and Canada in hopes of enticing delegates that will represent North America for the 2005 conference schedule in the Asia Pacific Region.
“Last year we had little representation form the US, only four physicians,” explains Spicer.
This year Spicer hopes Oncology Specialists, general practitioners, EMT specialists, dental professionals, Maxillo-facial surgeons, bioscience and genome researchers, medical suppliers, and pharmaceutical companies will capitalize on this opportune platform for sharing knowledge.
“We want all medical experts and researchers to consider attending, and possibly even presenting, at this international medical congress.”
The largest of the events, held at the Biomedical Research Park in Singapore, expects 1,000 healthcare professionals, and will consist of two parallel sessions. The first session of the conference will look at how biomedical research has helped us understand how cancer progresses, and the realization that “cancer” actually refers to a whole range of diseases, rather than a single disease.
Session two of the conference shall take the topic further, and focus on oral, head and neck cancer. Interestingly, the event will focus on research that demonstrates that ethnicity does matter in cancer trends, with oral cancer being prevalent in some countries, with nose and throat in others. The conferences will focuses on how early diagnosis of oral cancer is often neglected due to lack of education and realization by the public. Dentistry offers for many countries such as India an opportunity for early diagnosis of the disease, which would involve a re-education of the profession into the role of the health provider.
To further introduce these international topics to Richmond and throughout the US, Spicer will offer Health Worlds Magazine, a glossy publication that will serve both as a product for health-conscious consumers and as a communication tool to promote the event among hospitals, clinics, and medical faculties.
