Gone Fishin Lodge is hosting a trip of a lifetime for the BYU Cougar Club. Now, BYU Cougar fans get a chance to spend a week fishing in Alaska with Heisman Trophy winner Ty Detmer.

The Gone Fishin Lodge, a world-class trophy fishing destination on the world-famous Kenai River in Soldotna, Alaska, today announced it is sponsoring a unique fishing excursion for interested fans of Brigham Young University. First opportunity for the limited spaces on this trip of a lifetime will be given to members of the BYU Cougar Club.
Cougar faithful will be able to fish the fabled waters of the Alaskan wilderness with former Heisman Trophy winner and current NFL Quarterback Ty Detmer. The incredible package was created exclusively for Brigham Young University (BYU) and will provide the best fishing available in Alaska, with options and amenities not typically offered.
The Cougar Club Sportsmans Alliance has scheduled the week of June 25July 2, during the heart of Alaskas prime salmon run, to host this exclusive trip to the Gone Fishin Lodge. Additionally, the Gone Fishin Lodge will donate a generous share of the proceeds from all trips sold to BYU Athletics.
There is no more majestic place in all the world than Alaska; its any outdoorsmans paradise, said Ty Detmer, former BYU quarterback. I look forward to being with some die-hard BYU fans in a place that is almost as special to me as LaVell Edwards Stadium.
The renowned Gone Fishin Lodge is located 150 miles south of Anchorage on the Kenai Peninsula. The unique seven night/seven day-package includes five days of fully guided fishing. This Best of Alaska trip features two days fishing for king salmon on the Kenai, which consistently produces some of the largest salmon on record. The package also includes one full day of halibut fishing in the worlds richest halibut grounds on the Cook Inlet, and an additional two days of remote fly-in fishing for king salmon on two of the finest fishing rivers in the world. All fishing trips are professionally guided by some of the most knowledgeable and experienced guides in the Great State of Alaska.
The package includes all meals, fishing equipment, sales tax, all licenses, fish processing, vacuum packing, freezing facilities and shipping boxes. All rooms at the elegant lodge have their own full private bath and comfortably accommodate as many as four people, with three larger rooms available for groups of four to six. The price for this five-star trip is $3,450 per person, based on a party of four. Participants must provide their own airfare to Anchorage, Alaska, and arrange transportation (usually via a rental car) to the lodge in Soldotna.
