February 3, 2005 (Press Release) --
Edmonton, AB, Canada (February 3rd, 2005) – Beverly J. Scott, author of the 2004 novel, Jena’s Choice, joins other American and Canadian authors and writers on BookAdz.com, a new website whose goal is to drive more traffic, recognition and sales to the authors featured.
Scott was born in Mason City, Iowa, and at age ten, moved to a farm outside of Corydon. In her junior year of high school she moved to Des Moines where she graduated first from East High School and then Grandview College. She and her husband collect Edsels and they have dreams of, one day, creating an Edsel museum. Their first Edsel was purchased in 1976 and it became a hobby enjoyed by the entire family. They served as Treasurers of the International Edsel Club from 1986 to 2004, and look forward to vacationing each July with other Edsel enthusiasts at an IEC Rally.
In 1969, Beverly J. Scott was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Living with the debilitating disease for over thirty years has left her with steel hips, plastic knees, stubby feet, curled fingers and daily pain. Her oldest daughter died in 1995 of complications from Diabetes and RA. When asked about her thoughts on how she has persevered over the years, Beverly replies, “RA taught me to value each new day for the adventure or challenge that it presents.”
The author describes herself as “wife, mother, grandmother, God’s child, avid reader, author, native Iowan, joyous person, office manager and, part owner of a fleet of Edsels”. Her writing style gives voice to a multitude of life experiences. “Writing frees my adventurous spirit, satisfies my imagination, and blocks my pain.”
Her first novel “Righteous Revenge” was published in September of 2001. “Ruth Fever” became available in May of 2003, and “Jena’s Choice” was published in July 2004. She is currently working on her fourth book, and a fifth is in the “thinking” stage. Scott is a member of Mystery Writers of America, and her profile is featured in the 2004 and 2005 edition of Marquis’ Who’s Who in America, and on BookAdz.com.
