February 10, 2005 (Press Release) --
The versatile 28-year-old central midfielder is permitted to join the Basque club outside the January transfer window because he is replacing injured center-back Igor Jauregi.
Sociedad said that the deal would cost them 250,000 euros ($321,300).
They also have an option to buy the Serbia and Montenegro international at the end of the season.
Mladenovic, who joined Rangers from Red Star Belgrade for 1.6 million euros ($2.06 million) in the close season, is expected in San Sebastian later this week following his national side's game against Bulgaria.
Sociedad are in 15th place in the 20-strong Primera Liga, just two points above the relegation zone.
Alcaraz awaits verdict
The future of Racing Santander coach Lucas Alcaraz is in the balance after the club's president said he had yet to decide if the 38-year-old would remain in charge of the Primera Liga strugglers.
Spanish media had been reporting all day that Manuel Huerta would announce Alcaraz's dismissal but he stopped short of firing the former Recreativo Huelva boss.
"We will have a meeting together on Wednesday to decide whether or not he has a future at the club," Huerta told a news conference in Santander.
Racing dropped into the relegation zone following Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Villarreal and have won just five of their 22 league matches this season.
