TPC Foundation, Inc., and Turning Point Magazine, in partnership with Los Angeles City Councilman Martin Ludlow, will host the 12th Annual Living History Makers Reception on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, 4718 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles, California from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Wells Fargo and Tanqueray sponsor this year’s event.
Always held on the last Thursday during Black History Month, the Living History Makers Reception recognizes California’s most dedicated individuals in the categories of Advocacy, Arts & Entertainment, Education and Science and Technology. These are individuals who have worked tirelessly to uplift the California African-American community.
"The Living History Makers Reception has always acknowledged those individuals who support the community by giving so much of themselves to help others," said Tamika Hinton, Program Manager of TPC Foundation, Inc. "In our 12th year, we are presenting the program a bit differently. We have all seven of our finalists attending and we will announce the four 2005 Living History Makers in each category at the reception."

Also new this year to the Annual Living History Makers Reception will be a silent auction, assisted by special guest Ms. Black California USA 2005 Isis McKenzie, to raise funds for the TPC Internship Program - a paid internship program that helps provide underprivileged minority students their first business experience (and paycheck) at a small business.
Cocktails and h'ordovres will also be served. Tickets are $50.00 per person and seating is limited.
