The Givenchy Code
New Book Pokes Fun at and Pays Tribute to that “Other Code” Novel
You think you’ve cracked all the Holy Grail’s secrets in Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code? Think again! At once brilliant and hysterical, The Givenchy Code: An Homage and A Parody, the provocative new book from E.R. Escober, takes the “Holy Grail plotline” to a more bizarre and twisted level, poking fun at that “other code” novel while simultaneously paying tribute to it.
The murder of a prominent French personality in the fragrance industry jumpstarts this exhilarating code-cracking ride all over Paris and deep into the heart of a religious conspiracy that centers on the real identity of a religious icon. In a spine-tingling blend of electrifying adventure, scholarly intrigue and unforgettable moments, The Givenchy Code gleefully parodies scenes and pays homage to that brilliantly written “other code” novel. At the same time, it pokes benign fun at the fragrance industry and ultimately conjectures an out-of-the-world theory that the most venerated relic of them all was indeed not a cup but something far more shockingly extraordinary!
In this fun-filled spoof where the parallel to Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code” can’t be missed, various themes are explored. From religious hypocrisy to laughter’s healing powers, from the art of keeping secrets to man’s corrupt nature as motivators, from the ways in which humans value rationality to the struggle between good and evil. Throughout the story, these themes are dealt with cleverly within a well-written plot that keeps the reader hooked until the very end when the surprising-beyond-belief identity of the Holy Grail is finally revealed.
