February 17, 2005 (Press Release) --
New York is filled with exquisite places to enjoy nightlife, dining, and the ultimate shopping experience. I recently visited New York and here's what I did and also some great spots for you to visit your next trip there.
I had only three days to paint the town so I got busy fast. My first day in the city I went down to 5th Avenue. 5th Avenue is a shoppers haven. The House of Versace, Burberry, Cartier, Sean Jean, Louis Vuitton, and Tiffany & Co. are among the shops you'll see along 5th Avenue's strip. After shopping on 5th Avenue, I was up for more shopping so I headed to the largest store in the world, the 34th Street Macy's. After shopping it was time for sightseeing. I visited Bad Boy Records, the Empire State Building, Madison Square Garden and Trump Tower. I ended the evening partying it up at Jay-Z's exclusive 40/40 Club. At the 40/40 Club I ran into Datwon Thomas, Editor-In-Chief of King Magazine. Who's a regular at the club.
Sunday was my last day in town so I put on tourist hat and headed out early. My first stop was the world famous Apollo Theater on 125th Street in Harlem. Then I caught a train up to Bowling Green to see the Statue of Liberty. To better view Lady Liberty, I took a 40 minute cruise to Staten Island, Ellis and Liberty Islands. After viewing the Statue of Liberty, I walked up New York's financial district to Wall Street and then up three more blocks to Pier 17. At Pier 17 I had a late lunch at Harbour Lights Restaurant. Harbour Lights is one of the most romantic restaurants in New York. The vista from Harbour Lights is the Brooklyn Bridge. It was slightly dark out and the lights on the bridge were lit, the scenery was gorgeous. Following Pier 17 I walked a few blocks to ground zero than took the train back uptown for a long awaited dinner. Because I was flying out the next morning, I decided to have a quiet evening at P. Diddy's Justin's Restaurant.
I always enjoy visiting New York. You're entertainment options are endless there. Everything you can imagine is a train stop away, just make sure you are wearing your walking shoes. Great spots to visit are the lower Manhattan museums, Central Park, Chinatown and Little Italy for great bargains, Broadway, TV networks, and major recording labels. Hope your next stay in the Big Apple is an enjoyable one. That's it for me, until next time-I'm out and on the move.
