Haitian-American writer & musician Cassendre Xavier is founder of the Women’s Writing & Spoken Word Series, and the Black Women’s Arts Festival. Her CDs have been described as sounding like “a cross between Tracy Chapman, Sade, and Enya” (Steven M. Wilson, Borders Music Expert), and her books described as “clever and snappy” (Karen Gross, Philadelphia City Paper).
