Santa Clara, Ca – February 23, 2005 – Ryan Glasgow, teenage entrepreneur, has launched his seventh company and has no plans on stopping. Since June 2004, Ryan has opened three businesses, with his most recent, Pure Five Audio.
While attending the King’s Academy in Sunnyvale as a junior, Ryan has managed his free time to become involved as an active entrepreneur. His companies continue to grow larger and larger in size, starting with selling fruit at the age of seven, to now operating an online audio store with over 700 products. “It’s a real challenge making sure school, business, and my social life are balanced”, says the teen entrepreneur.
For Ryan, every business has been a unique and diverse learning experience. Having never taken a business class to date, Ryan has kept his business learning on the job. “It’s been a trial and error from day one” says the Santa Clara teen. His twin brother, John, also is a partner in Pure Five Audio. “everything has gone great so far”, replies John.
Pure Five Audio(www.PureFiveAudio.com), which was launched January 29th, has had an exciting beginning. Ryan says the keys to finishing the tedious process of the online store has been determination, focus, cooperation with his brother, and remaining positive. Ryan says that registering the business was the hardest process. Because they are minors, the two brothers had to convince their dad to obtain a sellers permit from the Board of Equalization, and to sign up for a business credit card before continuing the business.
Pure Five Audio, which is an online portable audio store, offers CD, MP3, MD, radio, and cassette players, earphones, speakers, and iPod accessories. Because Ryan and John did not have the needed capital to hold the store’s inventory themselves, they rely on a supplier who sends out their products for them. It may sound like an easy process, but doesn’t change much, says Ryan. “The biggest advantage is that it allows us to concentrate on the business aspects like marketing, customer service, bookkeeping, price control, and business management”.
Since opening the online store, Ryan and his brother have plans for larger ventures and plan on starting more online businesses in the future.
