Santa Ana, CA – mUrgent Corporation (http://www.murgent.com) announces the opening of offices in Brisbane, Australia, under the name mUrgent Australasia. Senior management consultant Wayne Drinkwater has been named president of the Pacific Rim operation, which will serve Australia and eventually southeast Asia.
“The Australian market is modest in comparison with the U.S. market, but is renowned for its high uptake of technology-based solutions,” says Boris Bugarski, president and CEO of mUrgent Corporation. “We will initially focus on the east coast, but plan to move into Singapore and Malaysia soon.”
mUrgent introduced EMPACT, which was the first e-marketing automation software to combine email and wireless marketing, in Australia and found that businesses were receptive to the product.
Drinkwater is currently working with mUrgent’s high-visibility resellers to establish widespread distribution of EMPACT in Australia. He is also developing a field sales force to pursue targeted geographic regions and vertical market segments, including professional service providers, financial and insurance businesses. EMPACT’s email marketing capabilities will be utilized by mUrgent to deliver services to these markets, and a substantial referral program for mUrgent clients will stimulate additional business.
“Since 2000, the number of SMBs in Australia who are using email and wireless marketing to increase the frequency and quality of customer contact has increased exponentially,” Bugarski explains. “EMPACT enables any Australian company to customize and personalized its email and wireless marketing campaigns quickly and cost-efficiently.”
Drinkwater has studied the Australian e-marketing industry carefully and says there are a number of quality services available, but that they are normally integrated parts of expensive, customized website tools.

University students will be contacted through faculty and career advisors and be offered work-study credit for helping market the EMPACT software product.
