March 1, 2005 (Press Release) --
"NO JAIL For POT" Pro-marijuana activist will be protesting outside the Tazewell County Courthouse, 2nd & Court St. Pekin, Illinois. March 8, 2005. 10:00am until 4:20pm.
Richard Rawlings, Co-Founder and President of the Illinois Marijuana Party (ILMJParty), and
Rev. Joe Johnson with members of the Church of Khidr, will be protesting against the unjust laws on marijuana users, growers, and dealers outside the Tazewell Courthouse in Pekin, IL, from 10:00am until 4:20pm.
When Rev. Johnson was pulled over for speeding, the officer found a small amount of marijuana and arrested him. Rev. Johnson will be pleading not guilty, on grounds that he uses marijuana for religious reasons. His court hearing starts at 11:00am.
On February 11 - 12, 2005, the ILMJParty started the Courthouse Tour 2005 in Lincoln Illinois, protesting outside the Logan County Courthouse. Visit www.ilmjp.com/ for more information and a video on the Logan County Courthouse Protest.
If you are being prosecuted over a plant, contact Rawlings, and the ILMJParty might show up on your courthouse steps.
Rawlings said the Courthouse Tour will last through the summer, and maybe longer. The ILMJParty has been going to one courthouse a month, but feel more dates will be added as more people here about the tour.
You can look for ILMJParty at the Peoria County Courthouse May 7th, and back in Logan County next month.
Again, come out and show your support March 8th, NO JAIL for POT! Tazewell County Courthouse, 2nd & Court St., Pekin, IL. 10:00am until 4:20pm
