March 1, 2005 (Press Release) --
CAROLINE HAMMOND WEDDINGS & EVENTS, INC. offers comprehensive wedding/event planning and event design. Her approach combines vast expertise, organization, innovative ideas, and seamless execution. Her love affair with art and traveling abroad continuously inspire ideas for her events. She employs an internal support staff to help make the most challenging events unfold with ease. To execute her design visions, she collaborates with the region’s most talented professionals in floral, lighting, fabric design, linens, artwork, or whatever else is needed to transform ordinary spaces into the extraordinary.
Originally from New York City, Caroline has had exposure to the event industry most of her life as her mother’s career involved catering sales in some of the most prestigious NYC hotels. Through this serendipitous connection, Caroline was given the opportunity to assist various event planners at a very young age, and immediately fell in love with the industry.
After graduating the University of Colorado, Boulder with a Communication degree, she moved to Seattle where she was the advertising director at Encore Media Group. She was involved in special events in the Pacific Northwest with non profit organizations such as the Seattle Art Museum, the Seattle Symphony, and ACT, the Repertory Theatre.
Caroline returned back east to NYC in 1994 for her own wedding to a Roanoke Virginian. This brought them to Roanoke in 1995 where they have made their home since.
Caroline founded Lady In Waiting Event Production in 1996. This business grew exponentially, putting it on the map as the region’s premier event planning firm.
In 2003, Caroline co-founded White Glove Event Production, LLC, known for a unique approach to event planning combined with design and décor. It was at White Glove that Caroline discovered her talent for floral design and décor. White Glove is known to have created events that the region ”has never before seen”.
Caroline’s planning ideas and design work have appeared in The Knot Wedding Pages, Baltimore/DC; The Knot Wedding Pages National; InStyle Weddings Magazine, Bridal Guide Magazine; NBC’s Today Show; The Roanoke Times, City Magazine, The Roanoker Magazine; and The Virginian Pilot. She has served as a contributor to Worst Case Scenario: Weddings, Quirk Publishing, and Caroline speaks on the topic of event planning periodically.
Caroline resides in Roanoke County with her husband Murray and three children, Sophie, Sarabeth, and Pierce. She frequents the NYC wedding scene about 4-5 times a year to stay current with the trends and to maintain a fresh approach to the industry.
