The Glaucus is a multi-purpose device. The main features of the Glaucus are that it can be used to store your entire music collection and digitally stream it to many devices throughout the house. The Glaucus can be configured as a secure Internet gateway providing a firewall, web accelerator, intrusion detection/prevention, content filtering/parental controls, family Web server, Virtual Private Network, Family domain name, DNS service and mail server with anti-spam and virus checking. In addition, a system monitoring service is available through the digitalglu.net portal.
Home automation control is a major component of the Glaucus which has a browser interface to configure, monitor, and control devices for climate control, lighting, security, surveillance cameras, appliances and communicating door locks. An added benefit of the Glaucus is that it can be used as a backup device for PCs on a home network.
