March 8, 2005 (Press Release) --
Delphi Academy Students Thank Their Local Heroes – Firemen
Tujunga, CA – Recently, as part of their current events class, Delphi Academy 5th Grade students presented a special “Thank You” basket to local firemen to show their appreciation for the help and support the firemen give the community.
Upon receiving the basket, Capt. Lawrence thanked the students and answered questions such as, “How many calls do you go out on each day?” (The answer was, “Six already today, three of them before 8:00 a.m.”) He explained how the windy hot days bring more danger of fire to this area, and that all of them work together as a team whenever they’re on a call of any kind.
The students, Collin Levin, Danielle Fisher-Shin, Wesley Carl, Alison Wilson, Brie Marashlian, and Jackie Andruscavage, were allowed to look inside and climb into the ladder truck parked in the garage. That was exciting!
Delphi Academy, located in Lake View Terrace, is a private school offering year-round programs for kindergarten through high school students. Delphi Academy is licensed to use the Applied Scholastics™ educational services.
