March 9, 2005 (Press Release) --
With Spring 2005 upon us, Signoria has unveiled a superb collection of fresh designs, inspired both by nature and by Italy's rich tradition of the Renaissance.
One inspiration for Signoria di Firenze's designs comes from Italy's magnificent artists - Raffaello, Ghiberti and Leonardo.
"Raffaello" is Signoria's classic Egyptian cotton luxury linen with an impeccable hemstitch and available in 26 colors including several new ones: espresso, rust, and midnight blue. The wonderful thing about "Raffaello" is how well it fits into any decor, whether traditional or contemporary. It is expected to be as popular in 2005 as it was in previous years.
We first encountered Ghiberti in 1401 when he won a competition for a pair of richly decorated bronze doors for the Baptistery in Florence. The silky shimmer of surface and beautifully articulated detail makes it easy to understand why "Ghiberti" by Signoria di Firenze is such an outstanding textile - available in glowing limelight color.
The piece de resistance of the Signoria di Firenze collection is "Leonardo", a 1050 thread count Egyptian cotton jacquard that is an heirloom quality textile. This is one of those luxury linens that was kept under lock and key when not in use, and passed from one generation to another. It begs to be touched, and is available in pure white and classic ivory.
Probably one of the most romantic place in all of Italy is Venice, La Serenissima. "Venezia" by Signoria di Firenze is an allover jacquard that evoques all the mystery and opulence of 18th century Venice in a delicate rococo design - available in rich burgundy, moss and soft cream. This luxury linen has been selling out as soon as it hits our shores.
