Mr. Raman explained from the very basics with the trends in World Bank lending to different countries and sectors of the economy and explained about the Bank-Borrower interface. The participants were free to ask questions wherever they felt the need for any clarifications, which made the entire process very interactive. Another topic that interested these prospective bidders was the common Bid Evaluation techniques used by the buyers. He ended the day with very informative case studies, which gave participants a lot of food for thought.
Participants could barely wait for the session to begin on the 2nd day - this was because the agenda was to discuss how participate in World Bank projects and how to prepare bids. Mr. Raman clarified a lot of the doubts through his anecdotal style of sharing cases from his 40-years of procurement experience. Participants looked like eager children who could not wait to hear and learn from his next "story". Discussions went on late into the evening with everybody trying to get most from the vast sea of knowledge and experience that Mr. Raman carries within him.
The seminar ended with a few participants giving impromptu speeches thanking Mr. Raman and Tendersinfo for a very well-organised seminar and providing them a platform to meet interesting people and gain new insights into World Bank Bidding.
