NEW YORK (March 17, 2005) -– Underscoring the importance of the technical aspects of aesthetic dentistry, the internationally acclaimed New York University College of Dentistry (NYUCD) recently honored Jason J. Kim Dental Laboratory as one of the founders of the College’s Rosenthal Institute of Aesthetic Dentistry by naming the laboratory in the Institute the Jason J. Kim Laboratory.
Based on the North Shore of Long Island, NY, Jason J. Kim Dental Laboratory is a premier full-service prosthetic/cosmetic dental facility, specializing in the functional and aesthetic design of upper and lower full arch cases. Two of the company’s principals, Founder and President Jason J. Kim and Vice President Peter Kouvaris, are members of the prestigious Oral Design Group; they are among the select six in the U.S. who study under Master Willi Geller. The company’s third partner, Executive Vice President Jack Manno, has been very influential in raising the awareness of the laboratory to the industry and was the driving force in forging this close relationship with NYUCD.
The ceremony was hosted by Michael C. Alfano, the Dean of NYUCD, at the state-of-the-art Rosenthal Institute facility on First Avenue in Manhattan. The Institute is named in honor of its principal benefactor, Dr. Larry Rosenthal, a pioneer in the field of aesthetic dentistry.
“Jason, Peter and Jack have all given generously of their academic and artistic talent to help make the Rosenthal Institute a truly world class educational facility,” said Dean Alfano. “We really look at them as the brain trust in all of the technical aspects of the Institute and thank them for helping turn our vision of what the facility should be into a reality from which all of our students around the world will benefit.
“They remarkably combine the talents of business, technology and art,” he continued, “and have given so generously to the dental profession. I want to personally thank them for their time and financial support of our continuing education activities.”
In addition to Dr. Rosenthal, the group of distinguished guests that attended the ceremony included many doctor friends, business associates and family members. These included such prestigious NYUCD faculty members as Dr. Dennis Tarnow, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Implant Dentistry; Dr. Brian Chadroff, Clinical Associate Professor, Department of Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, Division of Surgical Sciences; Dr. Stephen Chu, Clinical Associate Professor, Division of Reconstructive and Comprehensive Care; Stuart Hirsch, Dean of Continuing Education, and H.
