March 16, 2005 (Press Release) --
Atlantic City, New Jersey - Mar 16, 2005: "I am concerned about the price of energy," U.S. President Bush told reporters Wednesday at a White House press conference. With these words and news that the price of oil had reached a record price as high as $56.50 per barrel, organizers of GLOBALCON urged commercial, industrial, institutional and governmental professionals to attend the two-day event to gain access to dynamic technologies and strategies for slashing costs.
Many industry observers are pushing for increased spending on renewable technologies and for corporate end users to take a leading role in implementing bold energy management game plans. This year's GLOBLACON conference and expo held on March 23 and 24 at the Atlantic City Convention Center in New Jersey target these issues and many other strategies vital to the nation's economy and business productivity. The annual GLOBALCON show features a multitude of training and networking opportunities including a multi-track conference, free workshops, seminars, an exposition and other industry meetings. According to Brian Douglas, Director of Business Development, Association of Energy Engineers, “The jump we see in oil prices can hurt corporate profits and dampen consumer spending. The stock market is jittery and growth from Asia does not appear to be diminishing anytime soon. There are over 30 Complimentary Workshops at this year’s show and by attending just a few of them, business managers can gain real insight into positive solutions for dealing with rising costs.”
Representatives from a cross section of leading business, industry, and government facilities will attend to learn about the latest technologies for effective management of energy and operational costs. The event explores renewable technologies, HVAC and building systems, lighting efficiency, combined heat and power, distributed generation, and plant and facilities management. Seminars, exhibit hall presentations and exhibits are geared toward energy engineers, energy managers, property owners and managers, industrial and manufacturing VPs of Operations and other professionals. Seminars address how to create a strategic energy plan, the dynamics of the natural gas market, fundamentals of buying and selling energy and additional topics related to energy management. GLOBALCON 2005 is presented by The Association of Energy Engineers
Expo hours are Wednesday, March 23 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Thursday, March 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The conference will be kicked off with a dynamic Opening Session at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23. Seminar times vary. One- day, full-conference and expo-only registration packages are available.
