San Francisco, CA, March 24, 2005 � The World Bank headquarters in Washington, D.C. selected Media Vision USA as the equipment supplier in its Executive Board Room Technology Renovation Project. One facet of the project was to replace the existing analog conference microphone system in its Executive Boardroom with a highly customized Interkom Digital Multimedia Congress (DMC) system. Installation of the Interkom DMC system, which includes electronic voting, simultaneous interpretation, automatic speaker�s list, and delegate identification features, was completed in December 2004 by Slye Electronics, Virginia based AV contractor. A key factor in the decision of the World Bank to select the DMC product was the willingness of Interkom to customize the hardware and software of the DMC system to support the protocol and procedures of the World Bank Executive Board.

The Interkom DMC system includes 34 delegate stations and one Chairman�s station, all flush mounted in custom designed stainless steel panels in the Board table. In the gallery seating area there are 40 pedestals each with two independent language selectors and flush-mounted built-in speakers. The new system also includes three interpreter booths with two desks in each booth, for a total of six interpreter stations.

The delegate microphone stations provide a custom hardware control layout that includes a request-to-speak (REQ) button in addition to the standard microphone control button. This dual control functionality permits the use of a hybrid Request/Free mode in which delegates can request to speak but retain control of their own microphones. The custom delegate stations are also equipped with Attendant Call, Login, and Logout buttons along with integrated smartcard readers that are able to read the World Bank�s standard smartcard in conjunction with the Bank�s central electronic directory. In addition, two DAI-66 Digital Analog Interfaces with 12 balanced audio inputs/outputs are included, providing sufficient capacity for all the other audio sources, such as video CODECs, recording devices, DVD players and PC audio.

The primary software component of the Interkom DMC system is the Intelligent Congress Network System (iCNS), which runs on a standard Windows PC server. iCNS was customized with a graphical seating chart layout of the Executive Boardroom from different viewpoints and includes the name of the Executive Director associated with each chair at the table. iCNS supports the Login/Logout/SmartCard, Call and Request-to-Speak features integrated with the custom DMC hardware. iCNS provides a software configurable feature set for requiring Login/Logout with PIN code or SmartCard, remote delegate login, monitoring Attendant Call, and a highly customized timer control. iCNS also sends the DMC stations� microphone status (On/Off/Request) to a central AMX controller via RS-232, positioning the video cameras for �look-at-me� functionality to support simultaneous interpretation and during video-conferences. iCNS is tightly integrated with a proprietary World Bank SQL database system for recording speaking statistics and providing dynamically configurable seating charts, among many other specialized features specific to the World Bank�s installation.
